1969 - Speedmaster : the first watch on the Moon
The Omega Speedmaster has been the choice of astronauts and space agencies for more than half a century. In fact, it has been associated with some of humankind's greatest extra-terrestrial adventures and has been one of the most famous chronographs in the world ever since it became the first watch worn on the Moon in July of 1969.
2015 - Speedmaster Moon Event
On May the 12th 2015, a special event was hosted in Houston, Texas, to honor Omega's continuing commitment to space exploration. Like no other watch brand, Omega has been at the forefront of lunar discovery, always with the ingenuity and precision to serve the mission.
Among the guests were astronauts Gene Cernan, General Thomas Stafford, Captain James Lovell, actor and Omega brand ambassador George Clooney, actress Joanna Garcia Swisher,NFL player Chester Pitts as well as a whole host of industry legends.
